Covid Concerns
Dear St. Joseph Parishioners,
I hope the New Year, 2022 has been good for you and your family so far.
Unfortunately, cases of Covid 19 have risen dramatically in the state of Ohio over the last several weeks. We are taking some measures again as a church to attempt to limit the spread of this virus. The large pulpit-side section (that is, the large section of chairs diagonally facing the altar on the side of church closest to East Harrison Avenue—look for the green ribbons) of chairs has been designated as a social distancing area, although the distance is every other row of chairs, instead of every 3rd row of chairs.
The chairs in the Gathering Space are also a place where social distancing should be informally observed.
Out of consideration for everyone’s health, we will not have donut Sunday this month.
Two points to remember:
- While there is a wide range of opinion as to how effective the various prevention measures are, please be respectful of those who are exercising extreme caution.
- While there is a serious obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and holy days of obligation, there are situations which excuse one from this obligation. If you are particularly vulnerable to the Covid virus, you may choose to stay home without sin.
We hope that you will be charitable and considerate as we try to take reasonable measures to deal with this situation in a way that is good for everyone.
